Join acclaimed local artist and facilitator Mark Daniels in a charcoal drawing session in the beautiful Speckled Woods. We will be using imaginative techniques to capture the essence of the exquisite chaos of what it feels like to ‘be’ amongst the trees.
Dance with Rosie & Millie x SOS
Join us for an hour of hair-whipping, booty-shaking fun! This is an all levels dance class - SOS classes aren’t about being step-perfect, they’re about moving your body, feeling amazing and having FUN doing it!
Pots, Shots & Death Drops
We’re breaking the mould (hopefully not actually, they’re not that cheap) by combining craft, music and drag… and drinks and brunch, but who’s counting.
Come and enjoy a hilarious crafty drag brunch with a sustainable twist; learn to use the Jesmonite to create a gorgeous marbled pot or tray for your home! Local drag legend Heather Duster will be guiding the hilarities, alongside death drop queen Kikiara, while Signe Leidersen teaches you the necessary jesmonite skills.
Meet new people and learn a fantastic new craft skill; think of jesmonite as the eco-lovechild of concrete and clay - but even more versatile! Your piece will be ready to take home on the day (perfect for the impatient crafter!)
The superb Supernature will be creating a carefully curated brunch menu for the event (to purchase on the day).

The Curious Kids Festival is an immersive child centric arts festival which aims to provide young people with an opportunity to take part in a variety of vibrant workshops. Flower arranging Workshop
Magda invites you to join her and create an unusual spring flower arrangement to brighten up your home! Magda will show you how to prepare for your arrangement and give you some tips and techniques in floristry. The finished pieces will be displayed for the 'Vicar' to judge for prizes, before you can take them home to brighten up your space. No experience needed just a love of flowers and creativity, and a sense of adventure!
Discover Your Drag Self: Makeup Workshop
Join Santi in this interactive makeup workshop where you get to explore your inner drag self. Beyond binaries, to creatures, and all kinds of fruity things. Attendees will get to develop their very own drag character, learn the basics of drag makeup (focusing on skin and eyes) and get to watch a live gender bendy makeup demo and to put your skills into practice. This is a 2 hour session with free take home resources.
Inventions with Peter Quinnell
In this invention workshop by acclaimed artist Peter Quinnell, learn to make a wooden garden windmill and use the wind's energy to see what you can make it do.
Plant a Memory Curiosity Cabinet
This workshop asks participants to contribute to a shared story and a growing artwork. Quite literally. We invite you to bring along a small cutting or specimen of a plant that means something to you and add it to the curiosity cabinet along with a short description that tells us about your connection with your plant - does it bring back memories of childhood? Does it connect you to a particular place, a person or a time in your history? Or is it simply a personal favourite? The collection will grow throughout the festival and thereafter plants will be shared with the local community.
Wonder Walk
The Wonder Walk will fill you with awe as you journey through enchanting woodland. Each step will beckon you deeper into an improvised tale, fed by your curiosity and underscored by nature.
Sing for Serotonin
Serving up a potent fix of oxytocin, serotonin and dopamine, this singing workshop will quash your cortisol to get rid of that stress. With her famous motto, "It's not about how it sounds...it's about how it feels", Zoie's workshops always feel AMAZING!
Painting the aisLe with Laura Ribbons
In this workshop members of the public are invited to contribute to creating a collective drawing/painting working along the aisle of the church. Participants will be able to combine traditional drawing tools like charcoal with alternative materials like beetroot and coffee.

Bee Curious DAY
Come and bee curious around the fire at the Bee Potion Woodland Apiary in Fairlight. In this 2 and a half hour workshop your senses will bee enthused by the wonder of honey bees and the miraculous ingredients they create: propolis, wax,pollen, royal-jelly & honey. Learn through creative and interactive experiences. So bring your curious questions and Bee amazed at the deep connections you will make with the hive mind.
Queer as Woodland Folk
All are welcome in the woods! A space for LGBTQIA+ people to connect with nature, with each other, and ourselves. The morning will provide various things to explore, things to craft and create, games to play, and activities to ground us and to invigorate us. Surround yourself with queer friends, old and new, and let nature do its thing.
Make a Terrarium with Terrapy - Workshop
Terrapy introduces you to the wonderful world of terrariums. Over a two hour workshop, you will learn all about how these little tropical worlds work, how they have shaped our lives for the better, and how to create one of your own! You will then make a bioactive closed terrarium under our guidance, with all of the beautiful tropical plants and high quality, low impact materials provided. This terrarium will be yours to keep forever, and you will leave with all the knowledge needed to care for it into the future.

'The Oldest Tree in the Woods' Film Workshop
This film workshop for older adults draws inspiration from the wood wide web of mycelium focussing on ideas sparked by ‘The Oldest Tree in the Woods, often named ‘The Mother Tree’.
You will build an individual mini set or diorama using props and lights and use your phones as a creative tool to make short experimental film-clips which will be professionally edited.
Mycelium Sculpting with Saskia Gall - Workshop
Learn about the magic of fungi and its incredible potential as a sustainable material, and grow your very own sculpture out of mycelium to exhibit at A Curious Town Grows festival (and then take home after)!
