In this fun workshop, Tara Macdonald will guide you to create your own, unique scarf, dyed only with a range of flowers and different botanicals.
Bundle dyeing is a great introduction to plant dyeing and gives fabulous results. You will have a gorgeous summer scarf to take home. There will be the option to choose a silk or organic cotton scarf. All materials will be provided and we recommend wearing an apron or old clothes.
Tara began her career as a gardener and spent many happy years working in some of the world's most beautiful gardens.
From this, her journey into botanical dyeing felt like a natural one. She fell in love with the beauty and subtlety of natural colours and was able to combine her love of plants, flowers and textiles.
She loves to grow and gather materials from her windy garden on the cliffs and from the local environment for her work. She has a dye garden at home, where she grows many of her own dye plants. From her studio in Rye, she creates a range of gorgeous naturally dyed items for sale. She also regularly teaches workshops and classes.
