Learn about the magic of fungi and its incredible potential as a sustainable material, and grow your very own sculpture out of mycelium to exhibit at A Curious Town Grows festival (and then take home after)!
What place does woodland hold in our hearts? Do we go there to get lost or be found? Whose Woods These Are celebrates the precious and timeless world of the forest, embracing its romance, darkness and fragility through interweaved stories and music. Sally Hodgkiss and Niall Ashdown invite you to lose yourself in this tender and playful love letter to the woods.
Part of an informal DIY festival by artists to celebrate invention in its abstract and strangest everydayness is inspired by John Logie Baird’s work to develop television. This exhibition by artists inspired by invention is followed by talks and workshops at the Hastings Museum on 24-25th May
This film workshop for older adults draws inspiration from the wood wide web of mycelium focussing on ideas sparked by ‘The Oldest Tree in the Woods, often named ‘The Mother Tree’.
You will build an individual mini set or diorama using props and lights and use your phones as a creative tool to make short experimental film-clips which will be professionally edited.
Broken things, odd items, strange finds… There are lots of found objects, all around us, to be curious about!
