LUKE GARVEY
“I’m an artist and photographer that loves creating whenever, wherever and with whatever! Since childhood I always drew monsters and as I got older that never really went away, it just evolved through different mediums and materials then more recently dimensions. Going from 2D drawn art to experimenting with several 3D techniques including ceramic, glass, foam carving and the method that the items you can see in st Andrews mews, SCRATCH BUILDING (building from scratch) now I must say I am not the creator of this term or the art form there are many amazing YouTubers that do this type of thing including Bill makes stuff, Dan does and Studson studios to name a few. Now the essence of what SCRATCH BUILDING is, is making things from scrap like plastic bottles or beads or wire etc but I often use something I have in abundance old camera parts but I’ll use whatever I can get my hands on, the way I look at it is it’s like Lego but every can fit to every else (with enough super glue!)
As for my other artistic endeavours I do many prompt based drawings challenges such as inktober, kaijune and march of the robots all of these are month long drawing a day challenges that I find very useful to keep me always creating, something which I feel Is THE most important thing for an artist to do, just keep making!
I’m also an avid photographer, moving more recently to a lot of film photography although I still do digital the move to film was a way to slow the process down and sharpen my skills as due to the limited nature of film each shot is made more precious!
There are also a few other aspects of my artistic pursuits but I’ve waffled on enough and I’m sure you’ve stopped reading at this point (I know I would have) soo I’ll just say if you want to checkout more of my work then check my socials.
