Loulou Cousin

“I don’t consider myself an artist, I play. But I play for a living. I explore play and the huge benefits of playing. I went to art collage but could never stick to one thing. Sculpture, cardboard, animation, printing, automata, and paper mechanics, making a mess, it all excited me.

I worked in children’s publishing for a while, creating books about making stuff. I went back to do my PGCE in 2006 and started another journey, still playing but sharing the excitement of finding joy and laughter while getting an education as a side project. Living by the sea in a town full of creativity, I’m an art practitioner now. I work with young people and adults, face to face or online. I tinker with adults across the globe with Cabaret Mechanical Theatre, 1:1 with The Eggtooth Project or run workshops with Culture Shift. I also make stuff when I get the time. I’m reallouloucousin on insta.”
