“My main motivation for art came through my grandma. She is a painter who got me my first set of oil paints when I was 6. I found it difficult to express myself with the current art teaching modalities and faltered between giving up art completely to picking it up again. I had always loved the classical expression of art, the understanding of anatomy, the way paint interacted with the subjects it was made to express. I often wondered why and how the old masters represented their subjects with a sense of ease and accuracy. Characters that you could get consumed by. I did go to art school since I was little, did a small evening art degree at a local school in 2017-2019 and since then I've been looking at more classical ateliers. Currently taking courses at Hera Helsinki as well as looking into other atelier focused places and possible at atelier training by a classically trained artist. I feel as though my influences come from everyday occurrances as well as my other passions such as philosophical questions, mathematics, the unconscious, the human experience I find fascinating altogether. It's hard to pinpoint exact artists whom I find the most influential to my expression so I'll have to compromise by nominating my grandma.”
