Antonia Gabb

“I am a multi media artist, working intuitively in response to feelings, events and places. I mostly work with clay and began drawing trees to inform the surfaces of my clay vessels, where I wanted to record my walks outside. The trees are anchors in the landscape for me and I have a relationship with them, look forward to seeing them again and again. They need to be felt, touched and walked around on every visit. The scale of the drawings grew as i was trying to capture the weight of what I felt. These prints are from drawings that are 150 cm tall and have a strong presence in a room. I mostly draw in charcoal on textured paper.”
