Every few months, a set of vacant windows in Priory Meadow are going to showcase a new piece of artwork, inspired by Hastings’ rich festival calendar.

Year-round, these windows will include a mosaic of festival characters, from Jack in the Green and Fat Tuesday musicians, to the jolly pirates of Pirate Day, and many more.

This initiative is part of Curious Agenda’s ongoing effort to enhance public spaces through art and storytelling. Known for our annual A Curious Town festival, we are committed to fostering creativity and curiosity across Hastings.

UP FIRST…

BENJAMIN PHILLIPS.

These designs, printed on vinyl and installed on to the windows, are the work of brilliant local illustrator, Benjamin Phillips.

A recipient of multiple prestigious V&A Illustration Awards, Benjamin’s portfolio includes collaborations with celebrated authors and institutions. This January, he released new work “One Day” with Michael Rosen, further cementing his reputation as one of the UK’s most talented illustrators.

HOW CAN YOU BE INVOLVED?

The next instalment of the design, to be unveiled in April, will feature an array of local faces - and could include yours!

This is a one-off opportunity to have one of the UK’s most talented illustrators include you or a loved one in his work; something very special that you can treasure for years to come.

Each purchase will include a free piece of merchandise with the design, featuring you or your loved one, emblazoned on it to cherish forever!

Benjamin will have limited space on the windows, so make sure to book your spot in the final design before it sells out!
