Joan glasgow

Joan  is a mix media  artist  with a painting background. Her practice is informed by life experiences, social commentary and relationships.

She continues to challenge herself by experimenting with different mediums and techniques, which allows her practice to  evolve. Painting from  collages gives the work a surrealistic appearance, which Joan finds exciting. 

Over the past couple of years,  Joan has made sculptures from  papier-mache, wire, plaster, expanding foam and clay.

More recently she has been doing hand embroidery on sublimation printed fabric, lino printing  and watercolours . Sometimes she works in a process driven way, where her interest is in exploring the properties, changes and interaction of materials.
