MELISSA HALL
Melissa Hall is a UK-based artist working primarily in hand-cut paper collage, blending traditional image-making techniques with a contemporary edge. A graduate of Norwich School of Art, Melissa began her creative career in graphic design, where she honed her eye for composition, colour, and visual storytelling.
Now working from her studio in Battle, she is establishing herself in the world of fine art, exploring texture, layering, and narrative through intricate, tactile collage work. Her pieces often reflect social issues and always have a humorous edge. She prides herself on only finding existing pieces of imagery from her huge collection of ephemera, however niche or small to make it work within the theme. Each piece takes weeks to arrive at it’s final creative end.
Melissa’s evolving practice bridges the precision of design and layout with the freedom of hands-on creation.
Oh it sure is a lovely day for a stroll around the Rock n Ore and a dip in the sea. Just don’t get caught up as catch of the day!
