Get ready to unlock the magic of art and exploration on April 30th with the exciting launch of Play the Town, an interactive treasure trail that will transform our town into a vibrant canvas of creativity!

Event Schedule:

  • Play Me Piano Launch: 4:30 - 5:30 PM at Priory Meadow Shopping Centre

    Tri winning songwriter and musician Blair MacKichan will be kicking things off on the Play Me Piano installation inside Priory Meadow Shopping Centre.

  • Other mysterious locations around town are awaiting your discoveryโ€ฆ

    Along the way you will encounter our curiously PLAYFUL walkabout performers in other installation locations around our town including: Town Centre Murals by Master Skosh & Cush One with harpist Ahrtemisia & Ten Sixty Six Mix phone box by artist Dale Matthews at Hastings Train Station.

  • Play the Town Launch Party: 5:30 - 9.00 PM at St Andrews Mews

    Make your way to St Andrews Mews where the FREE to all launch party will be waiting. Come and explore more playful installations, listen to LIVE MUSIC including an Apples & Oranges showcase ft. Tim Hoyte & Mike Willis + more, as well as a set from the Lost Revellers.

    PLAY with our walkabout performers, visit the SECRET kitchen disco and drink curious cocktails from Corner House Mews whilst eating delicious food from 3 Souls in a Bowl

This is a celebration of curiosity and creativity that you wonโ€™t want to miss!

Play the Town is an exciting new, interactive art-based treasure trail running throughout May 2025 across Hastings, St Leonards, Bexhill, and Ore. Featuring over 25 pop-up installations, this unique event invites residents and visitors to explore their town through creativity and play.

Highlights include โ€˜The Worldโ€™s Smallest Discoโ€™ at St Andrewโ€™s Mews, a giant child-built playground at Hattonโ€™s Yard in collaboration with Black Butterfly and Woodland Tribe, the Ten Sixty Six Mix phone boxes in Hastings Station and Source Park and a magical Woodland Trail at Speckled Wood.

โ€œThis project is all about discovery, creativity, and community. We want people to explore their town in a new way, encountering unexpected moments of play and joy along the way.โ€
