The Curious Cabaret is back for our festival opening night! After the success of last year’s “fabulously unique” cabaret extravaganza, we are back again with a plethora of curious acts - from fantastic performers to creative oddities - throughout the night.
Arrive early and be the first to explore the art and installations throughout the incredible church venue.
Your hosts, Desmond O’Connor and Twice Shy Theatre, will lead you by the hand through an array of curious individuals, showcasing the very best in cabaret entertainment.
Aerial, fire, burlesque, comedy, songs, drag, acrobatics, hula hoop wizardry, walkabout performers, a confession booth+ more! A spectacle to remember, anything goes at the Curious Cabaret.

Desmond O’Connor
Desmond O’Connor is the ultimate cabaret MC…devoted to your pleasure in every way. You will be eased through the evening by his velvet tones and disarming charm. Des is an internationally renowned and award winning composer, lyricist and performer with over twenty years' experience in cabaret, comedy and musical theatre.

Drawing on the structure of traditional folk tales, Zoie and Eleanor work together to make deeper connections with the psyche of their audience as they perform at festivals, theatres and found spaces all over the country and abroad. Each story is entirely improvised and unique to the particular place and group, who are invited to offer themes, suggestions and issues they would like unveiling. The site and group specific nature of their work leads to new openings and discoveries at every turn... you never know where you will be lead.
Revolting Rosy
Revolting Rosy is a shape-shifting, party pumping toy box of curious characters, immersive intimacies, and strange spectacles. A chameleonic clown, she likes her smut laced with silliness and surrealism. She performs in events in the UK and internationally, including Bad Bruises, Cirque Le Soir, Pinky Promise, and Torture Garden.
Xena Flame
Xena is a multi-skilled performer who specialises in hula hoop, poi and fire and loves everything circus! Impossibly talented with the hula hoops, Xena will leave your jaw on the floor with her act! She loves to tell a story through her creativity, so be prepared to be left in a spin.
Duo Millers
Duo Millers are an up & coming circus duo. Keri Hinna & Jordan showcase incredible strength, flexibility & balance throughout their performances. Growing together as a couple & an acrobatic duo.
King Crimson
Roll up, Roll up...the Circus is in town!!! Enter Cirque de King, as your Ringmaster in this dark and dramatic circus themed cabaret act. Featuring LED whips, drag lipsync, magic and drama… It's time to run away with the circus.
King Crimson, aka Domino Barbeau is an International Cabaret Artist, Drag King, a Master of Ceremonies, Producer and lover of all things theatrical, dramatic, camp and cinematic.
Twisted Nymph
Twisted Nymph is ‘a badass contortionist’ (Mardi Gras Mag, 2017). She is a seasoned performer and instructor specialising in contortion, aerial hoop and silks. This captivating, Brighton-based circus and cabaret artist brings an eclectic mix of acts ranging from the comedic to the glamorous to the downright weird. With over 10 years of experience delighting audiences in the cabaret industry, performing at numerous festivals, circus little tops and more. Twisted Nymph is truly mesmerising with her precise and fluid movement style. She captivates us with her commitment to character, in performances that are truly unique and memorable. Expect eerie, eccentric and animalistic movement.
