Martin is a highly skilled and experienced visual artist tutor.
His work spans a range of media including on paper, wood-block prints, ceramics, kilns and 3D works in wood.
During his 30+ years career Martin’s work has taken many forms including hand-made tile installations, prototyping outdoor firing techniques, building sculptural kilns wood-block prints all focusing on found materials reflecting the specific landscapes he has worked with.
His work examines questions and celebrates our landscapes communities traditions and hidden corners of history. An ongoing bestiary chapbook and cabinet of curiosity undertaken over 35 years or more now it has journeyed across Britain for brief moments landing and resonating within the spaces and communities worked with.
FINDING AND FIRING CLAY WORKSHOPS.
Experimental in their approach they will be presented through the introduction of carefully
paced accessible exercises ,the materials and associated skills will lead the designing
and the making. Creating an opportunity for you to create the unexpected as well as learn
new skills and enjoy a day in the landscape .
