Clair is a mixed media artist, inspired by the textures, colours and patterns in nature. She has been creating since childhood;  skills with textiles, thread and yarn were handed down by her grandmothers and inspired a love of working slowly and meditatively with the hands.

She discovered the art of mandala and sacred geometry in 2017 and has created many mandalas, embedded with personal symbolism.

During a creative counselling post grad in 2021, Clair discovered art journalling and has since been exploring a huge range of mixed media tools and methods, often choosing to embed text and collage into her work.

She is currently creating semi-abstract dreamscapes in soft, ethereal tones to express a mood or a season in nature. In this exhibition, she presents a series of four pieces to conjure the atmospheres of seasons, outwardly in the world around us, as well as the ‘inner seasons’; those qualities of mood, need and temperament that shift and cycle. As with all of nature, growth is not exponential. It occurs cyclically, through periods of letting go and deep rest within.

Clair has been working in the field of mental health recovery and community support for over 20 years. As a creative counsellor and therapist, she is dedicated to supporting others bring creativity into their everyday lives. Clair offers art journalling workshops and 121 sessions for self-care and personal awareness.  Her approach involves using image work to bring the unconscious into conscious awareness, creating a relaxed and nurturing space to explore what arises.
